Info

Devin Pigeau is an artist based in so-called “Vancouver” whose artistic practice is rooted in the slow and deliberate processes of working with his large, wooden 4x5 camera and developing film by hand in his kitchen sink. Situated within the post-documentary tradition and influenced by literature, his narrative-focused approach aims to transcend the singularity of the photograph, emphasizing the interconnectedness and sequencing of photographs within cohesive bodies of work, with individual photographs becoming like stars linked together to form infinitely larger constellations. Rather than beginning with predetermined themes, He approaches photography as a process of discovery and subjectivity, allowing meaning to emerge, shift, and collapse over time.
